Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
ACEs are potentially traumatic events that occur in childhood (0-17 years) and are linked to chronic health problems, mental illness, and substance use problems in adolescence through adulthood.
ACEs can be prevented. By being informed, we can better understand the risk factors, and promote safe and stable relationships where children live, learn, and play within our community.
CHNA Data Highlights: ACEs
In St. Clair County, 40% – 50% of all children require assistance to meet their basic needs. Data shows that Insurance, Healthcare, and Food are some of the basic needs.
